Submitted documents may take 5-7 business days to process before they appear on your MyMav student portal.

Our processing time can take longer in the months preceding the start of each semester: July and August for the fall term, December and January for the spring term, and May for the summer term.

If you submitted your last required to-do list item and it has been longer than seven business days, answer no to the question below, submit your information, and our team will assist you.

To check the current status of your application, log in to MyMav, your student portal, using your NetID and password. Your student credentials are emailed to you 1-3 business days after UTA receives your application.

Under the admissions section, you will see the status of your application. If you have a status of "Incomplete," please refer to your to-do list for any items that we may still need from you. Please note that it can take up to 5-7 business days for submitted application materials to be processed and removed from your to-do list.

If you have a status of "Complete," please allow up to 3-5 weeks for us to process an admission decision. If you have a status of "Incomplete," please refer to your to-do list for any items that we may still need from you.

Congratulations! You will first want to let us know you are coming to UTA by accepting your admission. To accept your admission log in to your MyMav student portal. Click the Admissions tile and select "Application Status", then choose "Accept".

Once you've let us know you're coming, you'll want to review your other next steps. Keep an eye on your UTA student email and MyMav for important reminders, deadlines, and more.

To go over your options, please connect with your assigned admissions counselor so that we can review your file to prepare. To contact them or set up a meeting, please use our Find My Counselor tool. Otherwise, please submit your information below and our team will assist you in connecting with your counselor.

If you need to update your application, complete the appropriate application update form.

First-year and transfer students can move their application up to two semesters earlier or later, as long as the new semester has not started. If they want to move it beyond that, they'll need to submit a new application.
For example, a student who applied for fall 2024 can change it to spring 2025 or summer 2025, but not fall 2025.

First-year and transfer applicants receive one free application update per application. Graduate students will need to pay an application update fee with each term update.

If your start term does not match your start date, we will update your start term to match.

For example, if you select a spring term as your start term, but select a July start date, the start term on your application will be updated to the summer term.

Completing the self-reported transcript and academic record system (STARS) allows you to complete your application to UTA for a quicker application processing time and, therefore, a quicker admission decision. You will still need to submit official final high school transcripts after you graduate.

Test scores are only accepted when sent officially to UTA through the individual test’s reporting agency.

SAT/ACT- While we are SAT/ACT optional, these scores can help determine admissions decisions, testing exemptions, and scholarship opportunities.

IELTS, Duolingo, TOEFL- Please have your official scores sent to us by the testing agency. UTA’s institutional testing code is 6013. We will not accept a copy of your score report sent to us by the student.

GRE/GMAT- Your academic department may require test scores. If required, official test scores should be sent directly from the testing agency. UTA's ETS institutional code is 6013. Find the contact for your department.

Your transfer credit report will be posted in your MyMav student portal once you let us know you are coming to UTA by accepting your admission. You will also be sent an email to your UTA student email address when your transfer credit report is available.

Transfer credit reports are not done for transient students. An academic advisor will have to review a copy of your transcript to satisfy prerequisites.

To receive your I-20, you must submit a copy of your passport, a sponsor statement, and financial documents that are no older than 6 months outlining the required funds in USD.

Students will not be issued an I-20 until they have been admitted to UTA and submitted all required financial documents. Please check your To Do List in your MyMav student portal for any additional items needed to issue your I-20. Initial I20s are issued within 7 business days after uploading the required financial documents and copy of your unexpired passport.

(*Processing time may vary during peak season from January through May. Uploading duplicate documents may cause delays in processing)

I-20s will issue via the student's UTA email address (ending in @mavs.uta.edu) in 10-14 business days after a student has let us know they are coming to UTA by accepting their admission in the MyMav student portal and who has turned in the required documentation.

Application fee waivers may take 10-14 business days to be processed and applied before they appear on your MyMav student portal. If more than 10-14 business days have passed, answer no to the question below, submit your information, and we will assist you.

UTA requires a copy of all official transcripts and degree certificates by the 12th day of class. This hold requires the submission of the transcript and the degree certificate. Please review our guidelines on official document submission. For international transcripts to be considered official, you can have your issuing institution email a PDF copy of your transcript and degree certificate to utaadmissions@uta.edu mentioning your UTA ID number in the body of the email.

Your UTA ID number, NetID, and steps on setting up your password are sent to the email used on the application 2-3 business days after you applied. If you never received your ID number, NetID, or password set-up steps, please reach out to the Office of Admissions at 817-272-6287 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
